Carbon Zapp CRU2R
The device has a built-in
database covering the parameters
of injectors like electromagnetic
and piezo produced by Bosch, Delphi,
Denso and VDO/Siemens/Continental.
Update is free of charge,
automatically made via WiFi.
Carbon Zapp CRU2R device had the world premiere at the Automechanika fairs in Frankfurt in September 2014 and replaced the older model Carbon Zapp CRU2i.
CRU2R makes following tests carried out in automatic mode with the evaluation of parameters according to the built-in database:
▪ leak test and return volume measuring with no current signal
▪ test for electrical parameters, such as: resistance, inductance, capacitance
▪ test of injection doses at several points depending on the load (up to 7 points in some injectors)
▪ the injector opening pressure measured while the injector is operating with current signal
▪ the injector response time in µs from the electrical signal to the actual opening of nozzle. In addition, the device counts the impulses and checks whether the generated current signals corresponds to the number of actual injections.
It is possible to test Common Rail injector spray pattern in a specially chamber prepared for this purpose.
The device generates the new codes C2i (16 characters) and C3i (20 characters) to the Delphi Common Rail injectors and also new IMA codes for Bosch coil and piezo injectors.
CRU2R codes also Denso injectors (optional).
What's new:
- 02.2018 - Siemens VDO Conti coding - as Denso, it's optional.
- 04.2017 - Denso coding - both piezo and electromagnetic - this function is optional and requires purchasing of license. It's onetime fee only.
- CRU2R generates also new IMA and ISA codes for Bosch Common Rail injectors both electromagnetic and piezoelectric. Date of release: 05.2016. This function is free of cost.
- New function: Piezo stack regeneration for Siemens VDO injectors. Because of the reconditioning of the piezo-stack, most of the injection doses reaches the correct parameters. This function is free of cost.
Electronic measuring system in CRU2R is resistant to dirt that residues inside of the tested injectors. This makes it possible to test the injectors without prior dismantling of parts first. Simply clean whole injectors in 1.5 litre ultrasonic bath supplied in the set.
In addition to the testing function, CRU2R may have a function of the internal cleaning of injectors with specialized chemical detergent. This feature is very useful in the injectors, for which there is no repair technology (e.g. piezoelectric injectors). Their cleaning after dismantling into parts is impossible, because after such operation generally stop to function correctly.
Cleaning often brings significant improvements in the performance of the injectors.
CRU2R set contains the necessary adapters and cables used to connect the hydraulics and electrics of injectors from passenger cars and can be equipped with extra adapters for commercial vehicles.
The device has many advanced features, including the detection of wrong type of injector relative to the record that you have selected from the database (for example, electromagnetic instead of piezo).
Thanks to the new advanced steering board the new version of the CRU2R device is protected against burn as a result of connecting the damaged injector, for example with short circuits between the pins or a short circuit to ground.
The entire process is supervised, each electrical impulse from the beginning to the end of the duration of the test.
It is possible to generate multiple injection doses in a single sequence. For example, two pilot doses, main dose, two post doses.
The device put electrical signals to the injectors in the range of 0-250 V, 0-35 A.
CRU2R device has a built-in tablet with Android operating system.
After connecting an external WiFi printer, it is possible to make a printout of each test or the cleaning process. On the protocol you can find measured parameters with the assessment. It is also possible to save it on the memory stick in the form of PDF or send to Dropbox through WiFi.
You can connect the device to an attachment Carbon Zapp UIPR for cleaning and preliminary testing of unit injectors.
The device has many options of additional equipment, including metal portable stand. After purchasing the appropriate wiring the device puts electrical signal the injectors of the latest design with two coils used in some models of trucks.
Warranty: 2 years.

▪ working pressure up to 1850 bar (testing and cleaning)
▪ working pressure up to 2450 bars (testing and cleaning)

There is also a device to test 4 injectors at the same time: Carbon Zapp CRU4R.
The advantage of this solution is a time-saver device.
Spray pattern testing is also possible in this version after installing suitable transparent injection chambers.
Note: Carbon Zapp CRU4R can't be equipped in powerful cleaning function, hence the connection of UIPR attachment for unit injectors is possible, but only allows you to test the unit injectors, not clean them.
There is also a device to test 4 injectors at the same time: Carbon Zapp CRU4R.
The advantage of this solution is a time-saver device.
Spray pattern testing is also possible in this version after installing suitable transparent injection chambers.
Note: Carbon Zapp CRU4R can't be equipped in powerful cleaning function, hence the connection of UIPR attachment for unit injectors is possible, but only allows you to test the unit injectors, not clean them.
