3rd step of CR Bosch injector repair
From the abundance of that type of
injectors, workshops which didn't
have the proper technology, began to
struggle with a number of issues in
the process of repair. 3rd step of
bosch common rail injector repair -
as part of a laboratory allows
remanufacture without a risk of
warranty claims due to their faulty
operation in the engine. Currently,
this generation of injectors is
widespread in almost every brand of
vehicle. Since its introduction it
has been over ten years.
The first generation of CRI and CRIN injectors does not cause many problems, it doesn't mean that the 3rd step isn't necessary. Successive generations of injectors are associated with even greater complexity and therefore also need to be properly adjusted with Bosch 3rd step.
With the launch of 3rd step for common rail injectors repair, Bosch has provided all spare parts previously unavailable like valves, coils, injector bodies.
A complicated set of tools allows you to calibrate the injector elements with an accuracy of 0,001 mm (the averaged thickness of a human hair is 0.060 mm).
A set of 3rd step consists mainly of:
▪ digital computer-controlled torque wrench
▪ digital dial gauge
▪ set of specialized calibration tools
▪ control devices: electrics and pneumatics
▪ specialized press
▪ laboratory power supply
▪ advanced software that controls the whole set
▪ Bosch regulation shims graduated in microns to adjust repaired injectors.
3rd step requires the purchase of additional items that are not shown in the above description, it's not included also in the picture.

With the launch of Bosch ever newer generation of electromagnetic common rail injectors, 3rd step of repair has become the standard equipment in diesel laboratories.
It is essential for the control and proper adjustments of such parameters like the valve lift, so called air gap, the volume of the steering chamber or spring tension. This technology is applicable in the injectors mounted in passenger cars and trucks.
In 2001, Bosch introduced CRI 2.1 generation of injectors in Volvo cars.
These injectors have a completely different design which increases their precision and therefore their complexity.
